Nuclear Family
“That was delicious, dear!” Dad leaned back from the table and draped his napkin over his empty plate.
“Oh, thank you,” said Mom humility.
“Yeah mom, thanks!” said Daughter.
“Can I have more dessert?” asked Son.
Dad frowned. “No. You didn’t finish your peas, young man.”
“Aw nuts,” said Son.
A hush fell over the table.
“Well,” said Dad. “I love you all so much.”
“We love you too,” said Mom, Son, and Daughter.
Dad took a deep breath. “Okay then.”
He reached under the table and found the button. The house exploded in a blinding mushroom cloud.
