Andrea, this is a terrific Overthink, and I just lost what I wrote about it for over half an hour (Perry, POVs). Then I hit something wrong and it all vanished.
Can't do it again. It hurt. If I get another chance, I'll try again when I can.
Funny, I want to say that my inner narration is much less verbal and more visceral, if that makes sense? As for narrating our own work - well, I did a pretty awful job of it with Lamb - some people said they liked, but there really wasn't much difference between the two voices of Lamb and D, I just read it "straight" - (ahem). I've added Metzger's Dog to my TBR with that enthusiastic plug. :)
I have listened to a fair share of audiobooks. Personally, not adding a bunch of character voices doesn't take away from my experience, if the story is engaging. Sometimes I think it might depend on the genre too. I've come up with a weird voice for a few characters, and "regular" voices for others, so we'll see how this works out...
I love that you are doing your own narration! I have had daydreams of doing the same but I haven't gotten around to trying. I can't wait to hear how it goes for you!

So sorry to hear that, Paul! I hope you were writing to tell me how you love "Metzger's Dog" too... Happy Holidays to you and yours! ❤️

I'll definitely get there when able. I've got 15 of Perry's books. Have POV efforts you may find amusing. . . .

I'll keep you posted! I'm almost done working the tech part out, then I'm off to the races. :)
